Bad Bunny

Super Bowl LX Halftime Show · Mix engineering by Jon Rezin

About this project

Bad Bunny — Super Bowl LX Halftime Show is a live televised performance. On broadcasts like this, Jon Rezin served as production mixer — responsible for mixing every piece of music the artist performed to: backing tracks, instrumental beds, in-ear references, playback stems, and any pre-recorded musical elements that drove the live show.

The live vocal microphones captured during the broadcast are mixed by a separate role, the broadcast mixer, who folds the wireless vocal feeds into the production-mix bed in real time for the on-air audio.

This division is standard for major live events (UEFA Champions League Final, Super Bowl Halftime, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Coachella main-stage performances). The production mix is built and delivered ahead of the broadcast at album-quality detail — vocal balance on the playback, low-end shape, stereo width, dynamic envelope, time-based effects — then the broadcast mixer lays the live vocal over it during the air.
